Recipe: Delicious Picadillo

  6. Prepare 1 tablespoon of garlic powder.
  7. You need 1 tablespoon of complete seasoning.
  8. It's 2 tablespoons of ground cumin.
  9. You need 1/4 cup of raisins.
  10. You need 1/2 cup of stuffed pimento manzanilla olives.
  11. You need 1 of small can tomato sauce.

Here are a couple of variations that we like. You can add ½ cup chopped white onion if you like. Add the onion at the same time you add the potatoes and carrots. It's a simple, homestyle dish that relies on building layers of flavor and texture from the addition of briny green olives, capers, and raisins.

Picadillo step by step

  1. Brown ground beef with green pepper, onion and garlic..
  2. Add garlic powder, complete seasoning, cumin and simmer a few minutes.
  3. Add raisins and olives and simmer 2 more minutes..
  4. Add tomato sauce..
  5. Stir well, reduce heat to medium low and simmer for 20 minutes..
  6. Serve over white rice.

This is a dish I grew up eating as a kid, and I always loved when my Mom was making it. My friends also loved eating over on nights picadillo was on the menu.
